여기저기 하면 here and there 이 생각나는데요.

실제로 쓰는 표현입니다.

하지만 here and there 는 무언가가 있을 때 주로 씁니다.

to be scattered here and there
여기저기 흩어져 있다

to go sightseeing here and there
이곳저곳 구경하다

to bloom here and there
여기저기 (꽃이) 피다









무언가를 찾을 때 많이 쓰는 표현은

high and low

in many different places / everywhere
/ in every possible place / thoroughly

즉 많은 곳을, 가능한 모든 곳을, 꼼꼼히 라는 뜻이다.

 

"I searched high and low
but I still can't find my wallet."

 

전부 찾아봤는데 아무리 찾아봐도 지갑이 없어

but some one had already taken it."
